Where I grew up in Sweden by the Baltic Sea the winters were long, cold and dark. When I was a baby my grandma came up with a really good idea how to keep me warm at night. She basically made a cover for my quilt. When I had the quilt on, the warm air stayed inside the quilt cover and made my bed so much warmer and more comfortable. This was forty years ago and today all the quilts you can buy in Sweden are made in this way. And they don’t just make you warmer; the cover is easy to wash and keeps your bedding nice and clean. And you can easily change the appearance of your bed simply by putting on a new quilt cover. When my daughter was born 20 years ago I wanted to make her crib as comfortable as my grandma had made mine. But when I went shopping for a quilt there were no covers for the baby quilts! Being an R.N. I knew how important it was to keep my daughter warm and clean so I made a quilt cover for her bed. And since I wanted her room to look nice I made matching curtains and pillows etc. This is how it all started and now I feel happy to give you the opportunity to keep your baby as warm and snuggly as my grandma made me! I have been working as a Registered Nurse most of my life but handcraft has always been my main interest so being able to make baby quilts for you is a dream come true for me.
