The Patchwork Bear is basically a hobby gone wild. After making baby quilts, teddy bears and blankets for friends who were having babies, I started to get requests to buy my quilts. Already a busy mommy to my two girls and working as an architect, I didn’t have the time to sew as much as I wanted. As any working mommy can attest, every day felt like I was on the verge of chaos: work, daycare, school...deadlines? lunches? sick baby? Ahhhh! I needed a job that was flexible enough to allow time for my family, as well as fun and exciting for me. So what to do? I love design & quilting, love babies, and love short-term projects that I know I can finish...‘The Patchwork Bear’ was born. After checking out popular baby shops, I found mass produced baby products everywhere, but not original, handmade baby items. All the babies had the same blanket from the same store that everyone else buys from. I want each of my quilts & blankets to be as unique & special as the child it belongs to (and also to avoid baby brawls over identical blankets at the park). Take a look at all my products... They are handmade with love and kid-tested & approved by my girls, Isabella & Amelia and now my little Luke too. My line has grown from a simple baby quilt & matching bear to include: tooth fairy pillows, photo memory quilts, wedding dress quilts, baby clothes quilts and full nursery design.
