When my best friend announced to me that she was pregnant I immediately got excited. Having the love and passion for children that both my husband and I have, we wanted to do something very special for them. Being the creative one that I am, I thought, how wonderful would it be if we create the nursery. Knowing that our friends just moved into their houseand had enough work to do before the arrival of their child, we decided to lend a helping hand. When we announced to our friends what we wanted to do, they were a bit hesitant based on their beliefs that a nursery can’t be done until after the birth of the child. We respected their wishes and went to plan B, twisting the rules a bit. We said, well technically you wouldn’t know it was a nursery unless you saw it, right? So, we suggested doing everything as a surprise, the room had to get done one way or another. Over a period of a couple of months, my husband and I went to their house, locked ourselves in the room that would soon occupy their little girland went to town, making her room our first whimsical experience. When they arrived home with the new baby, they went to her room immediately to see the results. They fell in love at first sight. Today, Alexis talks to her enchanting friends on the walls while getting her diaper changed and enjoys the tranquil environment in which Mother Nursery has created for her while she gets rocked to sleep. The glow that we saw in our friends when they saw their room for the first times was a miraculous feeling of satisfaction and relief. It was the perfect gift we could have ever given to both them as well as Lexi. My husband and I feel that it is extremely important for one to have imagination at their fingertips. Children’s room should provide a practical and comfortable environment, but it must also be a stimulating place both for creativity play and learning.
